Congressman Mark Alford (MO-04) issued the following statement after voting to release the files related to Jeffrey Epstein and his alleged associates:

"On my last day as a television news anchor and from the very beginning of the Epstein Files saga, I've said the only thing that matters is the truth. Time and again, I have advocated for any files in the Justice Department's possession to be responsibly released, while protecting victims' identities," said Congressman Alford. "Transparency is not a partisan issue-it's a moral one.

"The public has a right to know who enabled these heinous acts, and we must ensure the full scope of Epstein's criminal network is exposed. The Epstein case has cast a long shadow over our institutions and fueled distrust among Americans. By releasing the files, we can begin to restore faith in our justice system.

"We will always fight for justice, while demanding complete and total transparency. The American people deserve nothing less."

Background:

• In op-eds, statements, and on his weekly podcast and syndicated radio show, Congressman Alford has repeatedly called on the Administration to release any files in its possession relating to Jeffrey Epstein and his alleged associates, while protecting the personally identifiable information of victims.
• Congressman Alford is a cosponsor of H.Res. 589, a separate resolution demanding the public release of certain documents, records, and communications related to the investigation of Jeffrey Epstein.
• On September 3^rd, 2025, Congressman Alford voted in favor of a resolution officially directing the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee to continue its investigation into Jeffrey Epstein and his alleged associates. To date, this investigation has yielded more than 65,000 pages of documents released to the public.
