Greenwood Energy Hosts Students from Universidad de Panamá to Visit ɅLMɅ MɅTER Solar Plant

Last month, Greenwood Energy hosted 60 students from Universidad de Panamá to visit Greenwood Energy's ɅLMɅ MɅTER solar plant as part of an academic tour organized by UP's Faculty of Agricultural Sciences.
[September 11, 2026] - Last month, Libra Group's Latin American renewable energy subsidiary, Greenwood Energy, hosted 60 students from Universidad de Panamá to visit Greenwood Energy's ɅLMɅ MɅTER solar plant as part of an academic tour organized by UP's Faculty of Agricultural Sciences.
ɅLMɅ MɅTER is a 40MWp photovoltaic plant located in the province of Chiriquí, Panama and was developed through a public-private partnership with UP to supply 100% of the university's energy needs, making it the first public university in Latin America to be entirely powered by renewable energy sources.
As part of the tour, students learned firsthand how a solar generation project operates and explored the relationship between renewable energy, land use, sustainability, and innovation.
The visit was accompanied by UP professors Eldis Barnes Molinar and Maria Herrera Quintero, and was guided by engineer Kristina Marisol Rodríguez Miranda, Senior Project Manager at Greenwood Energy.
