Norton Rose Fulbright named on multiple winning deals at IJGlobal 2025 Awards

Global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright has been named on multiple winning deals at this year's IJGlobal 2025 Awards.

The IJGlobal awards celebrate greenfield and refinancing deals across the energy, infrastructure and resources sectors and recognize the public and private players involved. Judged by an independent panel of industry experts, winning deals are announced at ceremonies held in Dubai, London, New York and Singapore throughout March and April 2026. This follows a busy season across the IJGlobal awards portfolio, with Norton Rose Fulbright having advised on four acquisition and infrastructure focused deals at the IJGlobal Investor Awards and six deals recognized at the IJGlobal ESG Awards.

The winning deals awarded by IJGlobal include:

LNG Deal of the Year, North America - Rio Grande LNG Phase 2 Train 4

Led by: Noam Ayali and Rebecca Abou-Chedid

Successfully closed two concurrent financing transactions totalling over $4.5 billion in secured loans for Rio Grande LNG Train 4, LLC, and its affiliates, in connection with the development and construction of Train 4 and the associated common facilities at the Rio Grande LNG Export Terminal Project. Located in Brownsville, Texas, the facility represents one of the largest liquefied natural gas (LNG) projects in the world with approximately 48 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) of potential liquefaction capacity currently under construction or in development.

Refinance of the Year, North America - Champlain Hudson Power Express Transmission Line (546KM) Bond Refinancing 2025

Led by: Noam Ayali, Christine Brozynski and Charles E. Hord

Represented the private placement investors in connection with the offer and sale by New York Clean Power Holdings, LLC, a holding company parent of Champlain Hudson Power Express, of $525 million of senior secured notes to facilitate the further financing and refinancing of the Champlain Hudson Power Express transmission line.

Solar Deal of the Year, North America - Nexamp Facility 2025 (August)

Led by: James Berger

Advised Nexamp, Inc., as borrower, in relation to a US$350 million structured mezzanine financing from Macquarie Group to support Nexamp's pipeline of utility-scale solar and battery storage projects across the US.

Sustainability-Linked Loan of the Year, North America - EdgeConnex AUS02 Austin Data Center

The team included: Joris Ravelli

Advised the lenders on local Dutch law in relation to the financing of AUS02, a 96 MW AI data center in Austin, Texas. AUS02 will provide colocation services and represents the first of four such structures comprising a US$1.44 billion campus being built by developer EdgeConneX in conjunction with cloud-computing firm Rackspace Technology Inc.

For the full year 2025, Norton Rose Fulbright was ranked as a top four global project finance legal advisor by volume, with deals valued at more than US$90 billion in aggregate (IJGlobal, Q1 2026).
