Governor Lombardo Announces State Government Office Closures in Carson, Douglas, Lyon, Storey, and Washoe Counties - February 17, 2025

Carson City, NV - February 17, 2026

This morning, Governor Joe Lombardo announced that state offices in Carson, Douglas, Lyon, Storey, and Washoe Counties will be closed due to severe weather. The Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) and the Department of Public Safety (DPS) report that snow, freezing temperatures, and wind are expected to continue throughout Tuesday, February 17, 2026. While essential public safety and corrections personnel will continue their vital work, all other state government offices in these counties will remain closed until conditions improve.

Recent winter storms have severely impacted regional transportation, making travel hazardous. Governor Lombardo urges all Nevadans to continue following local guidance from NDOT and DPS. Furthermore, Governor Lombardo asks all Nevadans to drive cautiously and exercise sound judgment when navigating roadways.
