Fit to drive: Mizzou hosts annual CarFit event to help seniors drive safely

[Link]Source: Adobe Stock Oct. 16, 2025Contact: Brian Consiglio, [email protected] WHAT: Trained occupational therapy students from the University of Missouri College of Health Sciences will give free vehicle assessments to older adults to help improve their driving safety and comfort. This service is part of an annual partnership between Mizzou and CarFit, a program created by the AARP, the American Automobile Association and the American Occupational Therapy Association. Students provide education for mirror and seating adjustments to improve visibility, recommend adaptive equipment to improve posture and comfort, and offer strategies for entering and exiting vehicles with greater ease.
