Sisak Gabrielyan meets with students

On April 10, the Chair of the RA NA Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Diaspora, Youth and Sport Sisak Gabielyan met with the students studying met with students studying in the dual education system at regional colleges within the framework of the Modernizing Vocational Education and Training in Agriculture in Armenia (MAVETA) project.

The Committee Chair presented in detail the functions of the legislative body, spoke about the work done in the Committee.

Sisak Gabrielyan emphasized the importance of organizing dual education and noted that the implementation of the MAVETA project gives the young people an opportunity to obtain a profession and develop the agricultural sector of Armenia. "There is much to be done in the sector, but there are few specialists," the Committee Chair noted.

The Consultant of the Vocational education and training (VET) for the MAVETA project Lilit Beglaryan informed that the project is being implemented in several regions of Armenia: Syunik, Tavush, Armavir, Lori and Yerevan. She noted that short-term courses are also organized within the framework of the project for our compatriots forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh.

During the meeting, a reference was made to teacher certification, the enlargement of educational institutions in communities and the development of cultural life in the regions were discussed.
