ubimia® launches AI virtual agents to speed up credit recovery amid record delinquency in Mexico

Mexico City, June 30, 2026 - ubimia® presented in Mexico its new Humanized Virtual Agents module for debt management, a solution that integrates artificial intelligence, language processing and supervised learning to recover accounts in the early days of delinquency, when the probability of collection is higher and the cost of management is still low.

The launch of this innovative concept comes as Mexico's financial system faces unprecedented pressure on consumer credit portfolios. According to figures from the CNBV, at the close of January 2026 past-due loan balances exceeded 58,380 million pesos, the highest level since this indicator has been tracked.

The urgency of contact is the most decisive factor in recovering unpaid debt. According to ubimia®'s international experience, up to 80% of past-due accounts can be recovered through digital collection within the first 30 days. However, the probability of recovery drops by up to 25% for every week of delay in the first action.

"That narrow window is exactly what the virtual agent is designed to cover: it operates 24 hours a day, any day of the week, across all available digital channels and in the customer's language, without depending on a human team's availability for the first contact," explained Diego Rodríguez, General Manager of ubimia® in Mexico.

Unlike closed-response systems, ubimia®'s agents do not run on predefined scripts. They manage contextualized, fluid conversations focused on resolving the debt, and when the customer is ready to settle, they close the matter on the spot: offering payment alternatives aligned with the institution's recovery policy, generating secure links to complete the transaction from any device, and handling payment reconciliation automatically.

The platform achieves an average latency of under 1.6 seconds, instruction compliance above 99%, and operates under GDPR and PCI-DSS standards. "The virtual agent exists precisely so that no contact opportunity is lost due to timing," Rodríguez added.

The arrival of this technology in the Mexican market also coincides with stricter collections regulation.

In January 2026, Mexico's Supreme Court confirmed that CONDUSEF has full authority to directly sanction financial institutions when the collection agencies they hire engage in improper practices.

The ruling raises the cost and reputational risk of traditional collection models, and opens the door to solutions that combine recovery effectiveness with traceability, regulatory compliance and respect for the customer.

With a presence in 26 countries, more than 6,000 clients, and sales that have quadrupled in Mexico over the past four years, ubimia® enters this market with a proven product and a business case that today's context makes hard to ignore.
