Highway Ramp Closures Next Week on State Routes 33, 99 & 140

Merced County - The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will have traffic controls in place for the following construction and maintenance activities on State Routes 33, 99, and 140 in Merced County next week. Work is scheduled to occur as follows:

State Route 33

  • Overnight one way traffic control at the northbound and southbound SR-99 at Mc Cabe Rd and SR-140 for pavement work beginning Sunday, September 13, through Friday, September 18, 2026, from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.

State Route 99

  • Overnight full on and off-ramp closures on northbound SR-99 at SR-59/Martin Luther King Jr. Way for striping work beginning Sunday, September 13, through Friday, September 11, 2026, from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.
  • Overnight full off-ramp closure on southbound SR-99 at SR-59/Martin Luther King Jr. Way for pavement work beginning Monday, September 14, through Thursday, September 17, 2026, from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.
  • Full off-ramp closure on southbound SR-99 at Mission Avenue Over-Crossing for striping work beginning Sunday, September 13, through Friday, September 18, 2026, from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.
  • Overnight full on and off-ramp closures on southbound SR-99 at 16th Street for striping work beginning Sunday, September 13, through Friday, September 18, 2026, from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.
  • Overnight full on and off-ramp closures on northbound and southbound SR-99 at Winton Parkway Over-Crossing for striping work beginning Sunday, September 13, through Friday, September 18, 2026, from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.
  • Overnight full on-ramp closure on SR-99 and Collier Rd for striping work beginning Sunday, September 13, through Friday, September 18, 2026, from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.
  • Overnight full off-ramp closures on northbound SR-99 at Shanks Road Over-Crossing for striping work beginning Sunday, September 13, through Friday, September 18, 2026, from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.
  • Overnight full on-ramp closure on southbound SR-99 at Shanks Road Over-Crossing for striping work beginning Sunday, September 13, through Friday, September 18, 2026, from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.
  • Overnight full on-ramp closure on northbound SR-99 at Bradbury Road Over-Crossing for striping work beginning Sunday, September 13, through Friday, September 18, 2026, from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.
  • Overnight full off-ramp closure on southbound SR-99 at Bradbury Road Over-Crossing for striping work beginning Sunday, September 13, through Friday, September 18, 2026, from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.
  • Overnight full off-ramp closure on northbound SR-99 at South Turlock/Golden Gate Blvd. Over-Crossing for striping work beginning Sunday, September 13, through Friday, September 18, 2026, from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.

State Route 140

  • Full highway closure for westbound and eastbound SAR-140 between SR-33 and Sixth Ave/Fourth St for a special event on Sunday September 13, 2026, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Motorists should expect 5-to-10-minute delays and use alternate routes whenever possible. All work is scheduled to occur as listed but is subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment/materials, and construction-related issues.
