WASHINGTON-AdvaMed, the medtech association, welcomed today's CMS' announcementof the details of the $50 billion Rural Health Transformation Program. This program gives states the chance to access the latest health care technologies that best suit their needs to improve health outcomes for rural Americans.
"We appreciate the leadership of Secretary Kennedy and Administrator Oz in helping to solve the significant challenges facing many rural communities in America," said Scott Whitaker, AdvaMed president and CEO.
"Medtech and digital health tech are a critical part of the solution as the backbone of our health care system. Around the clock, medtech and digital health tech innovators are creating products, services, and systems to prevent, diagnose, treat, and monitor every imaginable health condition. Increasingly, this technology serves patients, clinicians, and hospitals wherever they are. There's a strong recognition among these innovators that many Americans can't get access to the direct care they need, and that the health tech needs to come to them, not the other way around.
"Digital health tech including AI will continue to play a key role in serving patients and clinicians in rural areas. These advancements improve the connectivity of care systems and offer personalized, accurate diagnoses, treatment, and monitoring to keep individuals healthy. The more precise the diagnosis and treatment, the better outcomes for the patient, and the lower costs for everyone by keeping people healthier and delivering the right care at the right time.
"AdvaMed looks forward to continuing our work with CMS and the states to drive improved health outcomes and advance the connected care necessary to serve rural populations."
