Middlesex County Native Katie Eskin Named General Manager of New Destination in New Jersey, the NEXUS

MIDDLESEX COUNTY , NJ | CLEARWATER, FL - Middlesex County, in partnership with The Sports Facilities Companies (SFC), announces Middlesex County native Katie Eskin as General Manager of a new sports and entertainment district named NEXUS in Edison, New Jersey. Edison-raised and seasoned industry professional Eskin, identified from a national executive search, will spearhead strategy and management of the new destination. She will build and cultivate a qualified team to execute operations at every level and help shape a distinct regional reputation for the NEXUS, as a premier year-round destination for youth and professional sports, collegiate athletics, entertainment, culinary experiences, and community events, while ensuring exceptional guest experiences and meaningful community engagement.

As General Manager, Katie Eskin will oversee operations across the NEXUS, including the new stadium with an adjacent plaza, NEXUS Fields at Thomas A. Edison Park, and a full-service restaurant located inside the new Middlesex College Student Center. Eskin joins the project with nearly two decades of leadership experience spanning professional sports, entertainment, live events, and multi-venue operations. Her career includes leadership roles with industry icons, Harris Blitzer Sports and Entertainment, Madison Square Garden, and IMG, where she helped guide partnership strategy and organizational growth across nationally recognized sports and entertainment properties, including but not limited to New Jersey Devils (NHL), Prudential Center, Philadelphia 76ers (NBA), Washington Commanders (NFL), Unrivaled Sports, and emerging properties.

A current Edison resident, Katie Eskin's connection to this project extends well beyond her professional experience. She grew up participating in youth sports throughout the County, including at Thomas A. Edison Park, before continuing her athletic career as an NCAA Division I softball student-athlete at Marist College. She now returns home to shape a destination designed to serve athletes, families, County residents, and visitors across the region.

"NEXUS represents far more than a destination - it reflects our belief that Middlesex County should continue leading by investing in places that create opportunity, strengthen community, and inspire future generations," said Middlesex County Commissioner Director Ronald G. Rios. "Our investment elevates our residents' quality of life, attracts regional visitors, and generates long-term economic and cultural impact. Aside from having existing community connections in Middlesex County, Katie brings the right vision and deep industry experience needed to transform this destination into a year-round hub that residents will be proud to call their own."

"Katie is a dynamic and accomplished leader with a strong track record across sports, entertainment, and live events," said SFC Vice President of Venue Management Adrian Moses. "She understands how to build teams, create meaningful partnerships, and deliver experiences that connect with both communities and guests. Just as importantly, her passion for Middlesex County and her vision for what this complex can become make her an outstanding fit for this role and for this partnership."

"It's incredibly exciting and humbling to return home and help lead a project of this scale," said General Manager of NEXUS Katie Eskin. "I grew up here and experienced firsthand how sports and community spaces can shape people's lives. This destination has the potential to become something truly special - a place where athletes pursue big goals, families create traditions, students build connections, and visitors experience the energy and spirit of Middlesex County."

Katie Eskin's appointment builds on a previously announced partnership with The Sports Facilities Companies (SFC), which will oversee day-to-day operations, maintenance, scheduling, and programming across the NEXUS, and reflects a key milestone in the overall vision of the County's Community, Innovation, and Opportunity (CIO) Strategic Investment Plan.

The new destination, NEXUS, slated to open in the fall, signifies Middlesex County's unique position at the intersection of opportunity - where sports, culture, community, and entertainment converge. More than a venue, the destination is envisioned as a place where athletes compete, families gather, students connect, and visitors experience all Middlesex County has to offer.
