The FDNY to Announce Plans to Commemorate the 25th Anniversary of 9/11

The Fire Department of the City of New York (FDNY) Commissioner Robert S. Tucker will announce the FDNY's plans to commemorate the 25th Anniversary of the September 11th attacks. The yearlong plan will honor the 343 FDNY members who made the Supreme Sacrifice that day and the more than 400 members who have died since from World Trade Center related illnesses.

The announcement will take place on Tuesday, December 9, at 1:00 p.m. at Staten Island University Hospital Community Park, home of the Staten Island FerryHawks.

The FDNY's 25th Anniversary Commemoration Plan includes:

  • Official ceremony at FerryHawks Stadium on 9/09/2026.
  • Reveal of the 9/11 25th Anniversary Emblem.
  • Launch of a new Department produced film about Father Mychal Judge.
  • A commemorative podcast series, hosted by Gary Sinise.
  • Release of 25th Anniversary Health Report.
