Napa County - Caltrans has reverse one-way traffic control of State Route 29 (SR-29) in effect between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. the next mornings for culvert replacement work and road stabilization in between Rutherford and Oakville roads (south of Glos Lane).
Crews will work through Thursday, January 15th. Following the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday weekend, work will resume on Tuesday, January 20th through Saturday, January 24th.
It will remain a six night work schedule, Monday through Saturday, from January 26th through mid-March.
During this stage of construction, crews will begin to remove the existing culvert and replace it with a cast in place box culvert.
Flaggers will be present and Changeable Message Signs (CMS) signs will be posted to help the traveling public.
A full closure of SR-29 will be utilized later in the construction schedule. An updated advisory will be issued when those dates are confirmed.
Detour SR-29 Northbound toward St. Helena/Calistoga
Detour SR-29 Southbound toward the city of Napa
This emergency project is expected to last until spring, 2026.
All work is weather dependent. Future traffic advisories will be sent out if dates or times change.
Drivers should expect delays and to slow down in the construction area to help crews stay safe.
Please drive with caution. Slow for the Cone Zone and Be Work Zone Alert. Caltrans thanks motorists for their patience while we work to maintain our state's highways, bridges, and tunnels.
