What started as a drive to connect and serve the Pittsburgh region became a calling for Jennifer Daurora '99. Daurora was recently named the new president and chief executive officer of Leadership Pittsburgh Inc., but she saw firsthand the transformative experience of the organization during her time in its Leadership Development Initiative program, and as a member of LPInc's board.
"At its heart, Leadership Pittsburgh is about connecting business, nonprofit and community leaders together to ensure that Southwestern Pennsylvania is a vibrant place to work, live and play," says Daurora, who majored in economics. "I see an opportunity to deepen connections between this impressive group of leaders as we work to move the region forward together."
In her new role, Dauora hopes to empower talented leaders through programs and partnerships that will connect a network of over 3,500 professionals.
"We have the power and opportunity to ensure the region thrives through community involvement and economic leadership," reflects Daurora. "By understanding our region, developing our own skills, and coming together to solve challenges creatively, emerging and longstanding leaders can make a difference both individually and collectively."
She encourages supporters to recommend leaders to their programs and to connect them with business or sponsors who are interested in community leadership excellence and making a meaningful difference in Southwestern Pennsylvania.
Dauora continues to serve on the board of trustees at Allegheny College and as the president of Alpha Chi Omega women's fraternity.
