Congressional Black Caucus Statement on Rep. Maxwell Frost

Today, Congressional Black Caucus Chair Yvette D. Clarke (NY-09) and members of the Congressional Black Caucus issued the following statement:

"The racist and cowardly assault on our colleague, Congressman Maxwell Frost, at the Sundance Festival this weekend is abhorrent and unacceptable. We are relieved that Congressman Frost is now safe and are grateful to venue security and local authorities for their swift action in apprehending the individual responsible.

"Political violence has no place in our democracy-full stop. This attack on Congressman Frost should never have happened, and each of us has a responsibility to condemn it in the strongest possible terms."
