Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responds to three structure fires

Released: January 30, 2026 at 10:40 a.m.

Winnipeg, MB- On the morning of Friday, January 30, 2026, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service (WFPS) responded to three structure fires.

Balmoral Street fire

At 7:05 a.m. on Friday, January 30, 2026, WFPS responded to reports of a fire in an apartment building in the 400 block of Balmoral Street.

At the scene, firefighters found smoke coming from the building. Firefighters attacked the fire and declared it under control at 7:48 a.m.

Winnipeg Transit responded to provide a bus as temporary shelter for displaced residents. The City of Winnipeg's Emergency Social Services team responded to the scene to provide temporary support to displaced residents.

Paramedics assessed two patients and no transportation to hospital was required.

The fire is under investigation. No damage estimates are available.

Stevenson Road fire

At 6:26 a.m. on Friday, January 30, 2026, WFPS responded to reports of a fire in a commercial building in the 0-100 block of Stevenson Road. At the scene, crews found smoke in the building.

Firefighters attacked the fire and declared it under control at 7:40 a.m.

No injuries were reported. The fire is under investigation. No damage estimates are available.

London Street fire

At 4:19 a.m. on Friday, January 30, 2026, WFPS responded to reports of a fire in a commercial building in the 500 block of London Street.

At the scene, firefighters found smoke coming from the building. Firefighters attacked the fire and declared it under control at 5:05 a.m.

No injuries were reported. The fire is under investigation. No damage estimates are available.
