KCI leader to highlight campus impact at IU Economic Development Summit

KOKOMO, Ind. - An innovation leader from Indiana University Kokomo will be part of an event next month highlighting IU's research, partnerships, and initiatives that impact economic development by fostering business growth, talent development, and community resilience.

Alan Krabbenhoft, director of the KEY Center for Innovation (KCI), will present about his program's support for Carey Services, which provides support for families and individuals with disabilities in Marion, during the IU Economic Development Summit, set for 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, August 3, in Alumni Hall of the Indiana Memorial Union, 900 E. 7th St., Bloomington.

The summit brings together university leaders, business executives, policymakers, and community stakeholders to explore the university's impact on economic development throughout the state. Attendees engage in meaningful discussions, networking opportunities, and collaborative planning to further strengthen Indiana's economic future.

Keynote speakers scheduled include Larry Gigerich, executive managing director of Ginovus; and David Rosenberg, the inaugural president and CEO of the IU Launch Accelerator for Biosciences (IU LAB).

Additional session topics include:

  • Building Talent Pipelines through Community Collaboration
  • Bridging the Attainability Gap: Housing Affordability in Southern Indiana
