New Hires and Promotions in Newsroom Operations

Alena Cerro , who has been with The Times for nearly seven years, has been promoted to operations manager for Investigations, Narrated Article Production, and Books, Events, TV and Commerce. Since transferring to Newsroom Operations in 2023, coming from Audio Business, Film & TV where she was a project manager, Alena has been an invaluable member of the team. She has coordinated logistics across four departments with distinct and complex workflows, while also stepping in to cover for colleagues and managing her own workload with reliability and care. Alena has shown initiative and leadership - whether earning bylines with the National desk and Real Estate , or, at the request of Investigations leadership, creating editorial coordination systems that continue to support the desk today.
