(Washington, DC) - On Tuesday, June 9, 2026, Congressman Al Green delivered remarks on the House floor in support of the bipartisan bill, H.R. 5408, Faster Labor Contracts Act, legislation that would help workers secure their first collective bargaining agreement by establishing timelines for negotiations, mediation, and arbitration when necessary. The bill is designed to prevent employers from delaying contract negotiations after workers vote to unionize.
During debate on the legislation, Congressman Al Green, a proud AFSCME member for more than 20 years, strongly rejected claims that labor unions support Hamas, calling such allegations incitive insidious prevarications.
