Western Hemisphere, homeland defense highlighted in latest issue of Loglines

FORT BELVOIR, Va. -

Homeland defense and the Western Hemisphere are the themes of the latest issue of Loglines, the Defense Logistics Agency's professional journal.

"In today's contested environment, we face disruption in every domain, and at every level of warfare - even in the homeland," DLA Director Army Lt. Gen. Mark Simlery said in his director's message. "This edition of Loglines illustrates how DLA is addressing the challenges facing the homeland and meeting the mission."

Articles include DLA Weapons Support's commitment to ensuring the supply chain for valves becomes more resilient, DLA Troop Support's work to increase access to drones, changes to the Law Enforcement Support Office program that make it easier for law enforcement offices to obtain items to keep their communities safe, DLA Distribution's parachute riggers working to maintain aerial delivery equipment to maintain readiness, DLA Disposition Services' work in demilitarizing hundreds of missile silos, and DLA Energy's efforts to ensure fuel is strategically positioned around the world for our military customers.

U.S. Northern Command and North American Aerospace Defense Command Commander Air Force Gen. Gregory Guillot discusses how his commands depend on DLA to protect the Western Hemisphere.

This issue also includes a conversation with DLA Senior Enlisted Leader Army Command Sgt. Maj. Petra Casarez, and the debut of a new regular feature Get to know an NCO. This issue features Air Force Tech. Sgt. Deron Cooke from DLA Troop Support.
