A Portion of Wilder Road is Scheduled to Close on Oct. 13 for Roadway Widening and Resurfacing Work

Bartow, Fla. (Oct. 12, 2026) - A section of Wilder Road in Lakeland is scheduled to close at 7 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 13 for roadway widening and resurfacing work.
Wilder Road will be closed at U.S. Highway 98 North until roadway widening and resurfacing work is completed. The 560-foot segment is expected to reopen at 7 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 11.
Traffic will be detoured on Socrum Loop Road North, Socrum Loop Road West, U.S. Highway 98 North and Marcum Road. Residents are asked to plan alternative routes as needed.
The closure is part of a Martin Paving project.
