Cambodia awards honorable medals to Chinese military doctors

PHNOM PENH, Cambodia, Jan. 26 -- The Royal Cambodian Armed Forces (RCAF) recently held a grand awarding ceremony in Phnom Penh to award honorable medals to the members of the 19th medical expert team of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) to Cambodia, and commend the expert team's contribution to the construction and development of the Preah Ket Mealea Hospital.

At the ceremony, deputy director of the General Administration of Logistics and Finance of the Cambodian Defense Ministry conferred "Peace Knight Medal" and "Peace Knight Officer Medal" to four members of the Chinese medical expert team.

The deputy director said in his speech that Cambodia and China are good neighbors, partners and brothers. The two countries have been adhering to the tradition of friendly cooperation, and have achieved remarkable results in mil-to-mil exchanges and cooperation in recent years. The Chinese PLA has provided important support to the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces in fields of health care and talent cultivation for more than 20 years. Their selfless dedication has won respect and gratitude of the Cambodian side.

Sheng Dazhi, defense attaché of the Chinese Embassy in Cambodia, stated at the ceremony that this award fully reflects the profound foundation of the traditional friendship between the two countries, and is also a high recognition of China's long-term assistance efforts. China will continue to work with Cambodia to promote both sides' mil-to-mil relations to a higher level and make greater contributions to regional peace and stability.
