"This holiday has become a symbol of courage and strength of spirit of the South Ossetian people who defended their legitimate right to freedom and independence in a fierce struggle.

I believe that the current good-neighborliness and alliance relations between our countries will continue to fruitfully progress.

I would like to confirm that Russia will continue to render all possible assistance to South Ossetia in ensuring national security, as well as in solving urgent objectives of socio-economic development."
