This year's event will feature a special focus on Salk's Year of Alzheimer's Disease Research. Guests will learn how Salk scientists are rewriting the narrative on Alzheimer's, a devastating disease that continues to take a heartbreaking toll on families despite decades of investment. Cross-disciplinary Salk teams are now exploring a largely overlooked driver of the disease-chronic inflammation-rather than focusing solely on traditional hallmarks. By investigating this underlying factor across all brain cell types, not just neurons, they are uncovering new avenues for early detection and treatment.
"Symphony at Salk is more than just a concert-it is an opportunity to celebrate the profound intersection of art and science," says Amy Jacobs, member of Salk's Board of Trustees and chair of the Symphony at Salk committee. "As Salk scientists continue to push the boundaries of knowledge in Alzheimer's and other critical areas of research, events like this help bring those breakthroughs to life."
