2025 PH Medical Mission: VSee’s Disaster Kit in Action for Community Healthcare

On July 25-27, 2025, VSee team conducted a series of successful medical missions in the Philippines, partnering with local government units in Quezon City, Pasig City, and Mandaluyong City, volunteer physicians, and community healthcare professionals. Despite Typhoon Co-May hitting the Philippines, the VSee team came prepared to serve over 130 patients who needed access to healthcare. Filipino households spend about 54% of their total health expenditure out-of-pocket, according to a 2016 study. This VSee free clinic brought new services such as chest X-rays for tuberculosis screening, as well as continuing previous services like telehealth doctor consults and ultrasounds for maternal care to bridge the gap in primary care accessibility.

A Walkthrough of Our 2025 Medical Mission

Among our other medical missions, this was the first time our team used the VSee EMR system along with one of our newest pieces of hardware for the triage station: the VSee Vitals All-in-One Health Monitor.

This compact, easy-to-use device is equipped with built-in sensors for capturing key vital signs such as SpO₂, pulse rate, non-invasive blood pressure (NIBP), and temperature on the spot. It has greatly impacted the workflow of the medical mission by easing patient documentation and streamlining data collection-even in connectivity-challenged environments.

What is more impressive is that after patients completed their tests, the results were automatically processed real-time into VSee's EMR System for doctor's assessment.

The EMR system is a secure, cloud-based platform designed to simplify the collection, organization, and sharing of patient medical data. It enables healthcare providers to easily document patient encounters, access medical histories, manage appointments, and coordinate care across teams.

Coming from triage, we also had a dedicated room for ultrasound and X-ray-one focused on prenatal care and the other for TB screening. This brought another first for this medical mission: the use of a portable chest X-ray device, an extra mile in assessing patients with respiratory complaints. This made up about 15-24% of all cases during our three-day run.

All of these medical devices are ideal for medical missions and mobile clinics because of their intuitive interfaces and offline capabilities. Whether we had doctors on-site or connected virtually, the entire process was smooth and ensured that care was not interrupted.

This is especially helpful in the Philippines, one of the most disaster-prone countries globally, facing typhoons, earthquakes, floods, and landslides-which often cuts off residents from access to healthcare for days or weeks.

Getting to see everything firsthand, from triage to X-ray or ultrasound, up to the doctor's assessment, powered by the VSee EMR system, and even the provision for prescribed medicines, I witnessed how these tools truly empower healthcare teams and volunteers to deliver more efficient, data-driven care to underserved communities. It made me realize that simply digitizing medical workflows in the Philippines could transform the future of healthcare and solve one of our country's biggest challenges, especially with the right support from the government.

In remote or disaster-affected areas where there are not enough doctors and basic monitoring tools may be lacking, having this kind of accessibility not only saves time and costs, but also more lives. Our medical mission is proof that these advancements give our volunteer doctors hope and excitement for the future of digital health. See how the doctors responded below:

Delivering Medical Aid on the Go

During this mission, we also introduced the VSee Motorcycle, which works just like a food delivery service, except it brings health services right to your doorstep. The vehicle is specially designed to address urgent healthcare needs in a timely manner, containing all the devices utilized from the medical mission.

Outfitted with mobile medical tools, including the VSee Vitals All-in-One Health Monitor, the VSee Motorcycle enables health workers to travel quickly across challenging terrain, such as narrow rural roads, remote villages, and disaster-affected areas where larger vehicles cannot go.

VSee Staying True to Its Mission: What Should We Look Forward To?

One thing that I could be most certain of: aside from bringing cutting-edge technology in healthcare, VSee remains steadfast to reaching underserved communities with innovative healthcare solutions. Alongside our recent and past efforts in the Philippines, we have supported medical missions such as Ira and Nigeria, helping bring essential care to those in need.

Just as we envision bringing healthcare accessibility across the globe, VSee continues to expand partnerships and deploy more Disaster Kits, mobile clinics, and telehealth services to disaster-prone and remote areas. By equipping local providers with practical digital tools, we hope to break down barriers to care and help build a future where quality healthcare is accessible to everyone, everywhere.
