Slobodan Šešum participating in a panel on the circular economy at the EUSALP Forum | Author MZEZ
The panel titled "Could the Alpine region become a circular economy model region? " brought together Director-General Šešum; Jernej Pintar, Director of the Ljubljana Technology Park; Roland Mayer, Secretary General of the Conference of Swiss Cantonal Goverments; Robin Oddon, Projects Manager for Techtera (an innovation cluster dedicated to the French textile industry); Denis Jahić, General Manager of AquafilSLO; and Jan-Diederich Lüken of the CTW Faculty of Chemical Technology and Economics in Bavaria. The panellists agreed that sustainability is the only viable path forward, emphasising that achieving it requires not only investment and innovation but also a shift in the lifestyles of current and future generations.
During the discussion, Director-General Šešum highlighted Mario Draghi's report on the future of Europe's competitiveness, which recommends that the EU can only enhance its competitiveness through increased cooperation among member states and investment in shared objectives, including clean technologies.
