MEDIA ADVISORY: Chairman Garbarino Announces ICE, CBP, USCIS Hearing Date, Testimony

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Today, House Committee on Homeland Security Chairman Andrew R. Garbarino (R-NY) announced U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Senior Official Performing the Duties of the Director Todd Lyons, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Commissioner Rodney Scott, and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) Director Joseph Edlow have agreed to testify at a full Committee hearing on Tuesday, February 10, 2026. The hearing will provide an opportunity to conduct oversight of each agency and ensure they are fulfilling their duty to protect the homeland as part of the Department of Homeland Security's (DHS) core mission:

"Transparency and communication are needed to turn the temperature down. Thank you to Secretary Noem and the Department of Homeland Security for making these witnesses available, and I look forward to receiving their testimony."

Mr. Todd Lyons
Senior Official Performing the Duties of the Director, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), DHS

The Honorable Rodney Scott
Commissioner, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), DHS

The Honorable Joseph Edlow
Director, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), DHS

The hearing will be livestreamed on YouTube and will be open to the public and press. Press must be congressionally credentialed and should RSVP in advance.

BACKGROUND:

On January 15, 2026, Committee staff officially invited these witnesses to testify at a hearing regarding oversight of DHS components charged with border security and immigration enforcement. On January 24, Chairman Garbarino sent letters to each witness formally memorializing this previous invitation.

Last week, the Committee convened an oversight hearing with testimony from Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) Acting Director Dr. Madhu Gottumukkala, Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Acting Administrator Ha Nguyen McNeill, and Science and Technology Directorate (S&T) Under Secretary Pedro Allende.
