Traffic Alert: Walker Avenue Road Closure

Traffic Alert: Walker Avenue Road Closure

Walker Avenue will be closed to through traffic to through traffic between College Street and Cummings Street for up to six weeks starting Monday, September 30th.

This closure is necessary to install a raised crosswalk in front of Cummings Elementary School, which will enhance the safety of schoolchildren crossing the street. It is part of the Accelerate Memphis initiative.

A marked detour will guide drivers around the closure. Residents and drivers in the area are encouraged to follow the detour and plan for possible delays.
