Extreme Heat Watch Warning Through July 16

An Extreme Heat Watch Warning has been issued by the National Weather Service for this Tuesday morning through Thursday evening (7/14-16/2026).

You and your family are encouraged to prepare for this week's hot and humid conditions. Those most at-risk include young children, infants, older adults, and people with chronic medical conditions. There will be elevated overnight temperatures, with the weather being hottest on Wednesday.

High temperatures will range from:

  • In the mountains below 6,000 ft: degrees in the 90s
  • Inland valleys: 95-105+ degrees
  • Coastal areas: degrees around the 80s

Follow these tips to beat the heat!

  • Drink plenty of water (avoid alcohol and sugary drinks) and don't wait until you are thirsty.
  • Check on family, friends, and neighbors, especially those at risk for heat-related illness.
  • Find air-conditioned places to cool off (such as our Cool Zones).
  • NEVER leave kids or pets alone in a vehicle (EVEN if windows are cracked open).
