Gilbert, Ariz. - The Town of Gilbert is proud to announce the selection of Trinity Donovan as the Director of the future Gilbert Advocacy Center.
Following a nationwide search that attracted a highly talented and experienced pool of candidates, Donovan was chosen for her executive leadership, empathy, and deep passion for service. She began her role on March 16, 2026.
Donovan brings more than 25 years of nonprofit leadership to the position, most recently serving as Chief Executive Officer of AZCEND, an East Valley non-profit organization dedicated to nourishing minds and bodies so neighbors in need can experience a brighter future.
Her public service extends beyond her nonprofit work. Donovan served two terms on the Chandler City Council and currently serves on the First Things First East Maricopa Regional Council. She also serves on the Gilbert Advocacy Center Foundation Board, giving her valuable insight into the Center's vision and the people it will support.
"Trinity's combination of experience and commitment to trauma-informed care made her the right person to lead the Gilbert Advocacy Center," said Interim Town Manager Dawn Prince. "As we build this critical resource for our community, her leadership will be instrumental in establishing the center's services, partnerships, and long-term impact. We are honored to welcome her to Team Gilbert."
Donovan shared her vision for the role as the Advocacy Center's first director, "Gilbert has made a clear commitment to supporting survivors and building a safer, more responsive community," she said. "I am honored to join the Town and collaborate with our partners to strengthen a coordinated, trauma-informed response that ensures survivors receive compassionate care when they need it most."
The Gilbert Advocacy Center will serve as a centralized place where survivors and victims of crime can access coordinated law enforcement, medical, legal, and support services in a safe, compassionate environment.
The Advocacy Center is currently approaching 75% completion and is expected to open in the fall of 2026.
