Minister of State for Law and Justice Barrister Aqeel Malik said the government was leveraging technology to reform the justice system, aiming to make it more transparent, efficient and accessible to citizens.
Speaking at the Pakistan Governance Forum 2026, where he delivered the keynote address on "Digital Justice: Leveraging Technology for Justice System Reforms," the minister highlighted initiatives including the Pakistan Code platform for improved access to laws and the digitisation of 176 years of legislative history through the Document Repository System (DRS).
He said litigation processes were being modernised through the Case Assignment and Management System (CAMS) and the Case Flow Management System (CFMS), while Alternative Dispute Resolution mechanisms were being strengthened through the International Mediation and Arbitration Centre (IMAC). He also referred to legal reforms enabling digital evidence and video-link trials.
Mr Malik said the reforms were aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 16, reaffirming the government's commitment to building a transparent and accountable justice system.
