Waimanalo Man Sentenced to Ten Years in Prison for Distributing Methamphetamine

HONOLULU - United States Attorney Ken Sorenson announced that John Junior Fritz, 48, of Waimanalo, Hawaii, was sentenced yesterday by Senior United States District Judge J. Michael Seabright to 120 months in federal prison for possession with the intent to distribute methamphetamine, followed by 5 years of supervised release.

According to court documents, in April 2025, Fritz was arrested by the Honolulu Police Department driving a stolen car that contained approximately two pounds of methamphetamine and other drug distribution paraphernalia. As part of his ongoing drug trafficking, Fritz obtained two to three pounds of methamphetamine every few days for distribution into the community and for his personal use.

While on pretrial release, Fritz absconded from Sand Island Treatment Center. He was arrested three months later and detained pending sentencing.

The Drug Enforcement Administration and the Honolulu Police Department investigated the case.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Rebecca A. Perlmutter prosecuted the case.

This case is part of Operation Take Back America a nationwide initiative that marshals the full resources of the Department of Justice to repel the invasion of illegal immigration, achieve the total elimination of cartels and transnational criminal organizations (TCOs), and protect our communities from the perpetrators of violent crime.
