Prague bourse falls for third straight session

Prague, Sept 24 (CTK) - The Prague Stock Exchange (BCPP) fell for the third consecutive session today, erasing almost all of Monday's gain of more than 1 percent, its PX index shedding 0.21 percent to 2,723.79 points today, according to data from the bourse's website.

Komercni banka shares lost more than 1 percent, while defence stocks also declined. Doosan Skoda Power and insurer VIG gained.

"The Prague Stock Exchange remained in negative territory today. Komercni banka shares continued to struggle, while CSG gave up most of Wednesday's gains," Wood & Company broker Barbora Zelena said.

"Defence stocks in particular performed poorly," Fio banka broker Josef Dudek noted.

Among arms manufacturers, CSG shares on the Free Market fell 3.65 percent to CZK372.40, while Colt CZ lost 0.67 percent to CZK894.

Komercni banka shares fell by 1.06 percent to CZK1,025, while the other two banking stocks edged higher. Erste Bank gained 0.03 percent to CZK2,980 and Moneta Money Bank 0.05 percent to CZK192.80.

Insurer VIG posted a stronger gain of 0.83 percent to CZK1,700.

"(Engineering company) Doosan Skoda Power gained 1.75 percent to CZK495 following today's earnings report," Dudek noted.

Energy company CEZ closed unchanged at CZK1,350.
