The Santa Ana City Council recently took important steps to strengthen public safety and communication through new technologies and oversight efforts. At their February 3 meeting, the City Council:
Our Public Works Agency has completed another pedestrian safety improvement that will help keep Santa Ana children and students safe - the Davis Elementary Safe Routes to School project.
The project features multiple upgrades near the school, located at 1405. French St., including: the installation of bulb-outs at crossings; the reconstruction and installation of curb ramps, sidewalk segments, curbs and gutters; and new signage, striping, cement concrete, asphalt paving and driveways along the route.
The improvements significantly enhance safety and convenience for everyone who walks this corridor, especially the students who rely on it every day.
Join Santa Ana Parks, Recreation and Community Services Agency for in-person hiring fairs on Thursday, March 19, and Thursday, April 9, 2026 from 1 to 5:30 p.m. We will be hiring for various seasonal positions, including Program Leader I, Lifeguard, Senior Lifeguard, and Pool Manager.

Join us for the Sister Cities Santa Ana And Sahuayo Business Expo 2026, which bridges business opportunities between the cities of Santa Ana, California, and Sahuayo, Michoacán.
Explore new international business ventures and connect directly with partners, clients, and suppliers from our sister city Sahuayo, Michoacán, Mexico. Attendees will have the opportunity to network, view exhibits specializing in consumer and artisanal products, discover manufacturing, distribution, and retail opportunities, and more.
The three-day event takes place Friday, March 27, (businesses only), Saturday, March 28, and Sunday, March 29, at Santa Ana Elks Lodge #794, 1751 S. Elk Lane. Admission and on-site parking are free.

Santa Ana businesses, we are now accepting vendor applications for the 2026 Santa Ana Fun Run. The event takes place Saturday, April 11, from 7 a.m. to noon at Santa Ana Stadium. This year's event will feature a superhero theme and will once again include a 5K, 10K and Kids Dash.
We're currently seeking health and wellness, fitness, food, retail and education vendors to join us for this fun, family-friendly event. The deadline to apply to be a vendor is Feb. 20 at 5 p.m.

Please take note of the following road closures that may impact your commute. We encourage you to follow detour signage and recommend using alternate routes or planning for possible delays. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
Westminster Avenue:Westminster Avenue from Euclid Street to La Bonita Street will be closed from 9 p.m. on Monday, February 16, 2026, to 2 a.m. Tuesday, February 17, for a special event.
McFadden Avenue:McFadden Avenue from Harbor Boulevard to Susan Street will be reduced to one lane in each direction through February 20, 2026, for reconstruction of the center median. This work is part of the Standard and McFadden Bikeways Project. Learn more here.
In observance of Presidents Day on Monday, February 16, there will be no street sweeping, and Santa Ana City Hall, libraries, community centers and the Santa Ana Work Center will be closed.
Trash and recycling will be collected on their regular schedule. Police, fire and emergency services will operate normally. Please call 911 for emergencies.

On Saturday, Feb. 7, the City of Santa Ana hosted its third annual Tết Lunar New Year Festival that transformed Centennial Park into a celebration of culture, movement, and community spirit. The Year of the Horse arrived with power, joy, and an unforgettable fireworks finale.
The event, commemorating our community's Asian and Vietnamese cultures, included cultural performances, food vendors, community resources, and more and was held in collaboration by the Santa Ana Parks, Recreation & Community Services Agency and the Santa Ana Public Library.
Highlights included appearances by authors Ann Chau and Thái Nguyễn, a lion and dragon dance, special activities in Library Lane, and the debut of the library's all-new Knowledge Mobile XL.

The next regular Santa Ana City Council meeting will take place on Feb. 17, 2026, at 4 p.m. for closed session and at 5:30 p.m. for the open meeting in Council Chambers, 22 Civic Center Plaza.
City Council meetings are held on the first and third Tuesdays of each month, with the closed session beginning at 5 p.m. or earlier. The open meeting session begins at 5:30 p.m. Meetings have both in-person and virtual participation and attendance and are live-streamed onthe City's YouTube channeland our TV channel, CTV3 (channel 3 on Spectrum.) Santa Ana City Hall is open Monday through Thursday and every other Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. City Hall and non-essential City offices are closed on alternating Fridays, in addition to several observed holidays throughout the year.
