The President received letters of credence from the Ambassador of Kuwait

On Wednesday, President Gitanas Nausėda received letters of credence from Reem Mohammad Khaled Zaid Al Khaled, Ambassador of the State of Kuwait to Lithuania.

During his meeting with the Ambassador, the President emphasized the importance of Kuwait in the Persian Gulf region and Lithuania's commitment to strengthen bilateral relations. He noted that the recent political consultations between Lithuania and Kuwait, held in Vilnius, were a positive step towards enhanced cooperation. The President expressed hope that the bilateral, mutually beneficial political and economic relations would continue to deepen and expand.

Gitanas Nausėda highlighted the broad opportunities for Lithuania's economic cooperation with Kuwait, particularly in the food industry, as well as in financial, information and communication technologies. He invited Kuwaiti business representatives to become more familiar with Lithuania's startup ecosystem. Another promising area of bilateral cooperation is academic ties and student exchange programs.

Speaking on international policy issues, the President stressed the need to uphold the rules-based international order and expressed hope that Kuwait would continue to support Ukraine in United Nations votes, contribute to Ukraine's reconstruction projects, and provide humanitarian aid to the people of Ukraine fighting against aggression. The humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip was also among the topics discussed.
