MSU women's basketball is headed to the Big Sky Conference tournament championship after a semifinal overtime win against Eastern Washington.

BOZEMAN - The Montana State University women's basketball team will aim to capture their second consecutive Big Sky Conference championship this afternoon when they play the Idaho Vandals in the conference tournament title game.

The Bobcats, who are the tournament's No. 2 seed, will play top-seeded Idaho at 3 p.m. The game will be broadcast on ESPN+ and ESPNU.

MSU defeated Montana in the tournament's second round on Sunday by a score of 78-57. It was MSU's sixth-straight win against their rivals from Missoula, a streak that includes last year's conference championship game. After defeating the Lady Griz, the Bobcats advanced to play Eastern Washington in Tuesday's semifinals, winning in overtime by a score of 79-77.

Affectionately known as "Starch Madness," the conference tournament will once again be held in Boise's Idaho Central Arena. Single game and full-tournament tickets can be purchased on the tournament website, starchmadness.com.

For the Big Sky Conference, only the tournament champion earns an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. Every year since 2022, one or both MSU teams have earned those spots, with the men's team advancing to the national tournament three consecutive times from 2022 to 2024 and the women claiming the conference crown in 2022 and 2025.
