President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping (retranslated): My longtime friend, I am very glad to see you in Beijing again.

Just yesterday, we participated in the SCO summit in Tianjin. Tomorrow, you, Mr President, and I, as well as heads of state, representatives of international organisations and honoured guests from five continents, will be solemnly celebrating the 80th anniversary of victory of the Chinese people in the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and victory in the World Anti-Fascist War.

From May 9 to September 3, we are attending each other's celebrations of victory in the World Anti-Fascist War. This has become a good tradition in bilateral relations, and also convincingly demonstrates the great responsibility of China and Russia as the main victorious countries in World War II and permanent members of the UN Security Council, and shows firm determination of the two countries to uphold the outcomes of World War II and its historical truth.

To be continued.
