ICE Operation Safe Community - Atlanta nets more than 1,200 arrests in Georgia

ATLANTA - An enhanced immigration enforcement operation throughout the state of Georgia has resulted in the arrest of 1,226 illegal alien offenders. Titled "Operation Safe Community - Atlanta" the immigration enforcement operation netted illegal alien offenders with criminal histories that include sex crimes, crimes against children, aggravated assault, assault and battery, drug crimes, lewd and lascivious acts, burglary, weapons crimes, driving while intoxicated and more.

"Our officers did what they do best: they arrested and removed dangerous criminal offenders from American communities," said ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations Acting Assistant Director Patricia Hyde. "Make no mistake, every one of the illegal alien offenders apprehended during this operation was in violation of U.S. immigration law, but more than 700 of the aliens we arrested also have criminal histories in the United States. Removing these criminal alien offenders from Georgia neighborhoods makes for much safer communities, and that is exactly what the men and women of ICE work to accomplish every day across our great nation."

Of the 1,226 illegal aliens arrested 720 have either been convicted or charged with crimes in the United States.

ICE officers arrested five illegal aliens at the address of a trucking company known for employing illegal aliens.

Among those arrested by ICE officers during Operation Safe Community - Atlanta include:

  • Fabian Pineda-Garcia, an illegal alien from Mexico with prior criminal convictions for conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute at least 500 grams of methamphetamine and driving while intoxicated.
  • Jose Felix Amaya-Pineda, an illegal alien from El Salvador with prior criminal arrests for domestic battery/family violence, cruelty to children, disorderly conduct, and driving while intoxicated.
  • Elena Marin, an illegal alien from Romania with prior criminal arrests for theft by deception and petit larceny.
  • Armando Loma-Cristo, an illegal alien from Mexico with prior criminal arrests for DUI, supplying alcohol to underage persons, child endangerment, and driving without a valid license.
  • Ivan Flores-Dircio, an illegal alien and sex offender from Mexico with criminal convictions for sexual battery and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
  • Daniel Hernandez-Rodriguez, an illegal alien from Mexico with prior criminal convictions for DUI, endangering a child, and probation violation.
  • Hector Jose Hernandez-Fuentes, an illegal alien from Honduras with prior criminal arrests for cruelty to children-1st degree and willful obstruction of law enforcement officers.
  • Jose Manuel Maciel-Hernandez, an illegal alien from Mexico with prior criminal arrests for aggravated assault, reckless conduct, cruelty to children, possession of a firearm or knife during the commission of a crime, and unauthorized discharge of firearm.
  • Lina Sava, an illegal alien from Romania whose criminal history includes theft - movable property.
