Temporary Full Closure November 10-13 on Middleton Road for Emergency Railroad Crossing Repair

The City of Nampa is coordinating with Union Pacific Railroad to facilitate the emergency repair of a railroad crossing on North Middleton Road. The crossing is located between Chacartegui Lane and West Hemingway Boulevard.

A temporary full closure of North Middleton Road is required to complete the work. Work is expected to begin on November 10, 2025, with project completion anticipated on November 13, 2025.

Traffic Impacts

  • Hard closure at the railroad crossing on Middleton Road between West Hemingway Boulevard and Chacartegui Lane. Through traffic will not be permitted.
  • Local access for businesses, residents and emergency services will be maintained north and south of the hard closure.

Traffic will be detoured onto Midland Boulevard at the Karcher Bypass. Drivers are encouraged to take alternate routes and plan for additional travel time.

In addition, the free-running southbound right turn lane at North Middleton Road and Caldwell Boulevard will be closed for a water valve replacement beginning November 10. The turn lane is expected to reopen in early December. Overlap between the railroad crossing repair and water valve replacement will minimize impacts to the traveling public.
