On March 22, 2026, in Dushanbe, Republic of Tajikistan, the Youth Forum of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization member states was held as part of the International Navruz Festival.
In his remarks at the opening ceremony, Batyr Tursunov, Deputy Secretary-General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, thanked the government of Tajikistan for providing this platform to discuss current issues of interest to young people, as well as broader matters concerning the development of the vast Eurasian region.
SCO Youth Forum opens in Tajikistan
The Deputy Secretary-General noted that the Navruz holiday being celebrated these days symbolizes unity, cooperation, and development among SCO member states, and emphasized the importance of supporting youth initiatives and exchanging experience among the Organization's member states. He highlighted the need for greater involvement of the younger generation in addressing global challenges such as peacebuilding, environmental protection, and sustainable development. Batyr Tursunov expressed confidence that only through the joint efforts of the SCO member states can prosperity and harmony be achieved in the region.
