The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), the Lead Agency for the California Environmental Quality Act, is issuing a Notice of Availability of the Initial Study with proposed Mitigated Negative Declaration (IS/MND), Notice of Intent to adopt a Mitigated Negative Declaration, and Notice of Opportunity for a Public Meeting.
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) proposes to repair pavement, widen shoulders, and improve drainage systems on State Route 12 between postmiles (PM) 14.10 and 20.68, approximately 5.5 miles east of Suisun City and 2.2 miles west of Rio Vista. Rehabilitating the roadway would improve ride quality and drainage, reduce repetitive maintenance activities, and preserve and extend the life of the pavement.
Caltrans has studied the proposed project and has determined that there would not be any significant impacts to environmental resources as a result of the project. The Draft IS/MND explains why the project would not have significant impacts to environmental resources. This public notice is to inform you that the Draft IS/MND is available for review during the 30-day public comment period.
The Draft IS/MND is available to download at the Caltrans environmental document website: https://dot.ca.gov/caltransnear-me/district-4/d4-popular-links/d4-environmental-docs. Additionally, the document will be made available at the following locations:
