Chairperson Congratulating Cameroon Winning 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations

The Chairperson of the African Union Commission, H.E. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, congratulates the Government and people of the Republic of Cameroon, and the Indomitable Lionesses, on their historic victory at the 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

"This remarkable achievement, which marks Cameroon's first WAFCON title, is a proud moment that reflects the talent, determination, resilience and team spirit of the Indomitable Lionesses. It also highlights the growing strength and excellence of women's football across our continent," said Chairperson Youssouf.

He commended the players, the technical team and all those who contributed to this outstanding achievement and saluted them for inspiring a new generation of African girls and women to pursue their dreams in sport and beyond.
