Chairwoman Barela releases statement & video

Albuquerque, NM - As the Republican Party of New Mexico announced earlier this week, our headquarters office was the target of yet another act of political violence. A fist-sized rock was hurled through one of our windows in what was almost certainly a politically motivated act. We are now releasing additional surveillance video of this incident, as well as an image obtained from the footage.

Please see the statement released by Chairwoman Amy Barela below, along with this additional footage:

"While I am incredibly grateful for law enforcement, those who have reached out to help, and those who have condemned this, something like this will happen again if we continue to normalize this behavior," said Chairwoman Barela. "Each time our elected leaders choose not to condemn this or call out those who behave this way, it only fosters a culture that will tolerate this behavior more and more. This incident happened at 10:08 AM on Monday morning and I'm thankful our staff was in the field or they may have been hurt by this."
