Governor Ayotte Celebrates New Hampshire-Greece Trade Council at Glendi

CONCORD, NH - Today, Governor Kelly Ayotte joined members of New Hampshire's Greek-American community at the annual Glendi festival to ceremonially sign Senate Bill 526, bipartisan legislation establishing the New Hampshire-Greece Trade Council. The council is designed to strengthen New Hampshire's longstanding relationship with Greece while expanding opportunities for trade, investment, and business and academic exchanges.

"New Hampshire's Greek-American community has contributed so much to our state, and I'm proud that we're building on those longstanding ties to create new opportunities for Granite Staters," said Governor Kelly Ayotte. "The New Hampshire-Greece Trade Council will help open doors for our businesses, encourage new investment in our state, and strengthen the economic and academic partnerships between New Hampshire and Greece. There couldn't be a better place to celebrate this new chapter than Glendi, and I thank the bipartisan group of legislators who worked together to get this done."

SB 526 authorizes the Commissioner of the Department of Business and Economic Affairs and the Secretary of State to establish the New Hampshire-Greece Trade Council to work with corresponding councils in Greece. The council will focus on advancing bilateral trade and investment, coordinating on issues of mutual interest, and promoting business and academic exchanges. Its membership includes representatives from the Legislature, state government, the Business and Industry Association, the Division of Economic Development, the University System of New Hampshire, and two public members appointed by the Governor.
