North Cascades Flooding Update

Date:
December 19, 2025
Contact: NOCA Public Affairs Office

An additional storm system came through the area this week with heavy wind, rains, and freezing temperatures. In Stehekin, crews continue work to stabilize critical infrastructure and road access in preparation for winter conditions.

Today the Type 3 Incident Management Team transitions the incident to North Cascades National Park Service Complex. Over the winter park staff will continue planning efforts to manage flood impacts across the park complex. In the spring, additional assessments and stabilization operations will continue.

Full flooding impacts throughout the park complex are unknown as conditions are unstable to assess infrastructure, trails, and visitor use areas.

Updates and alerts will be available at www.nps.gov/noca.
