Chairman Matt Hatchett, President Pro Tempore Larry Walker Announce Dublin City Board of Education Nominating Committee Accepting Letters of Intent

ATLANTA - House Appropriations Chairman Matt Hatchett (R-Dublin) and Senate President Pro Tempore Larry Walker (R-Perry) announce that the Dublin City Nominating Committee is accepting letters of intent and resumes for individuals who are interested in serving on the Dublin City Board of Education. The letter of intent must include the board district where the applicant resides with their physical address listed.

"We encourage qualified individuals who are interested in serving on the Dublin City Board of Education to submit their letter of intent and resume for consideration," said Chairman Hatchett. "The nominating committee will carefully consider qualified candidates and recommend individuals to the governor who can help provide strong leadership for Dublin City Schools during this transition."

"Dublin's students and teachers deserve steady leadership committed to providing all students with a quality education," said President Pro Tempore Walker. "This is an important opportunity for qualified members of the community to step forward and serve. I encourage those who are committed to the future success of Dublin City Schools to submit an application as the nominating committee begins this important work."

The deadline for submitting letters of intent and resumes is Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at 5 p.m. To be considered, submissions may be emailed to [email protected] or dropped off in person at Plum Alley, located at 2032 D Veterans Blvd., Dublin, Ga 31021.

Representative Matt Hatchett represents the citizens of District 155, which includes Johnson and Laurens counties. He was first elected to the House of Representatives in 2010 and currently serves as Chairman of the Appropriations Committee. He also serves on the Economic Development & Tourism, Energy, Utilities & Telecommunications, Health, Rules, Rural Development committees and as an Ex-Officio member of the Ways & Means Committee. He also serves on the Special Committee on Resource Management.

Sen. Larry Walker III serves as President Pro Tempore of the Georgia Senate. He represents the 20th Senate District, which includes Bleckley, Dodge, Dooly, Laurens, Pulaski, Treutlen and Wilcox counties, as well as a portion of Houston County.
