Mutual of Omaha Names Anjali Masand Vice President and Medical Director

OMAHA, Neb. - Mutual of Omaha has named Anjali Masand vice president and medical director. In this role, she leads medical underwriting initiatives, provides guidance on complex risk assessments and case reviews, supports underwriter training and education, and contributes medical expertise to automated underwriting programs.

Before joining Mutual of Omaha, Masand served as medical director and corporate vice president at New York Life Insurance Co. Before entering the insurance industry, she practiced nephrology in private practice for several years.

Masand earned her medical degree from Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. She completed her residency in internal medicine at Montefiore Medical Center and a fellowship in nephrology at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center. She is board-certified in internal medicine, nephrology and insurance medicine. Masand also serves on the board of directors of the American Academy of Insurance Medicine.
