This year's Louie Awards are embracing this century's silver anniversary and taking its rightful spot in the new millennium, with a revised look and out of this world celebration. "The moon is the first milestone on the road to the stars," said Arthur C. Clarke. This year's celebration will make a brief stop on the moon then head straight for the stars-Student Affairs' brightest.
Student Affairs will honor its brightest stars at a Tuesday, June 10, ceremony from 3 to 5 p.m. in the Hokona Ballroom. Winners in the categories of Amazing Assessment, Howling Best Employee, Lobo Star Student Employee, Outstanding Pack, Student Affairs Cub, UNM Faculty Leader of the Pack, and UNM Staff Leader of the Pack will be awarded the coveted "Moonlouie" manufactured by the UNM Taos Department of Fine Arts, Film and Digital Media.
The UNM campus community is invited to celebrate the winners and nominees at the ceremony, featuring food, trivia, and a poetic commemoration by Hakim Bellamy, Albuquerque's inaugural poet laureate and recent UNM Juris Doctorate graduate.
RSVPS are being accepted here. Visit the Student Affairs website to learn more about the Louie Awards.
