Initiative to Increase Economic Mobility and Reduce Poverty in Palm Beach County
The Citizens Advisory Committee on Health & Human Services, Birth to 22 Alliance and Community Partners of South Florida are hosting the second "Securing Our Future Initiative Economic Mobility Summit" on Dec. 9, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Palm Beach Gardens Marriott, located at 4000 RCA Blvd., Palm Beach Gardens.
The summit workshops will feature local organizations showcasing initiatives designed to advance economic mobility, particularly for low-income families. The panels will pair local leaders with national experts to share research and best practices relevant to the discussions, with the goal of inspiring local leaders to adopt innovative strategies in their plans. Key resources that will be discussed include the Urban Institute's Upward Mobility Framework, Results for America's Economic Mobility Catalog and The Opportunity Atlas. Workshops will focus on vital efforts to strengthen the safety net for working families, reduce barriers to employment, education and workforce training and enhance family economic security through asset development.
Efforts to promote cross-agency collaboration, leverage technology for better service delivery, use data for informed policy-making and effectively engage stakeholders will be highlighted throughout the event.
