Escambia County Celebrates Reopening of Perdido Kids Park

Escambia County celebrated the completion of significant upgrades to Perdido Kids Park with a grand reopening and ribbon cutting event today, Sept. 3, highlighting exciting new recreational amenities in District 2.

Escambia County District 2 Commissioner Mike Kohler welcomed attendees and kicked off the ribbon cutting ceremony, joined by County Administrator Wes Moreno, Parks and Recreation Director Michael Rhodes, along with other elected officials, local leaders and community members.

"I'm excited to reopen Perdido Kids Park and celebrate the completion of significant improvements to the park," District 2 Commissioner Mike Kohler said. "This park is incredibly important to the District 2 and the surrounding community, and I'd like to express my sincere thanks to our county staff and community partners who helped complete these upgrades. I look forward to seeing our residents and visitors enjoy all Perdido Kids Park has to offer for years to come."

Improvements to Perdido Kids Park include new durable playground equipment, new ADA accessible amenities, new fencing and more. In addition to retaining the original children's handprint wall, climbing trees, and airplane rocker toys, the project also kept the existing swings and picnic table pavilion.

Perdido Kids Park is located at 10004 Gulf Beach Highway and open daily from sunrise to sunset.
