Director-General of the South Asian, Middle East and African Affairs Department meets with Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to Thailand

On 21 May 2026, Mrs. Urasa Mongkolnavin, Director-General of the Department of South Asian, Middle East and African Affairs, met with H.E. Mr. Abderrahim Rahhaly, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to Thailand.

Both sides exchanged views on ways to further enhance bilateral cooperation between Thailand and Morocco under the Thailand - Africa Initiative (TAI), particularly in the areas of trade and investment, education, training programs and scholarships, tourism, as well as the exchange of best practices to promote South-South and Triangular Cooperation.

The Director-General also expressed her appreciation for the Ambassador's commitment and dedication in his capacity as Dean of the Group of African Heads of Mission (HOMs) in Thailand in further strengthening relations between Thailand and Africa. She also commended the African HOMs on the successful hosting of the "Africa Day 2026."
